Call to Order at: 7:31pm
Reading of Land Acknowledgement: “We begin this meeting by acknowledging that we are meeting on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron Wendat First Peoples. We do so respecting both the land and the Indigenous people who continue to walk with us through this world. We are grateful for the opportunity to gather here.
In recognition of the contributions and importance of all Indigenous Peoples, we strongly support Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action in our nation and commit to support local endeavors where possible.”

- • Approval of 2023 Old Town Kemptville BIA Budget.
- John suggested that we defer the discussion on the budget until the outcome of
- the municipal budget has been known.
- Shelley suggested that we consider the purpose of the BIA Reserve of
- approximately $40946 pending the results of the 2022 audited financial statements.
- Motion: To defer discussion on the BIA Budget until the next Board Meeting on March 20, 2023. Moved by Meagan, seconded by Sierra. Carried.
- Review of BIA Workplan.
- Motion: To approve the 2023 BIA Workplan as presented. In addition it is understood that the BIA Workplan is a living document and will be updated from time to time. Moved by John, seconded by Meagan. Carried.
- Approval of 2021 audited financial statements.
- Motion: To approve the 2021 Old Town Kemptville BIA Audited Financial Statements. Moved by Meagan, seconded by Courtney. Carried.
